Over The Moon

It rained on Bernard & me earlier. The rain was warm & refreshing & a gift from God after having not showered or changed all weekend. Lovely warm raindrops falling on our heads. Dublin can be heaven with dubes around seven & a stroll in Stephen’s Green. It’s our current favourite spot to spend a leisurely evening getting baked. We took shelter under some trees while Bernard rolled a joint.

Take me to Naboo.

Such is life. Work, love & play, peppered with plenty of rest. I am averaging over 10,000 steps a day this year, resting my ass off at least half the day & sleeping an average of 10 hours a night. Hitting the hay is what I do best I guess. Love & other indoor sports ensue when Moon Man & I have ourselves a room.

Love is strange. You couldn’t make it up. Moon Man is the most important person in my life these days, I’m firmly hooked.

I digress. Bernard was rolling a joint this hazy, lazy Sunday evening in Stephen’s Green. My job was grinding the green in Bernard’s groovy mini grinder. So with my assistance, he rolled us what I decided was a queen-sized joint. Did the trick, I tell you. Together we floated down Grafton Street & enjoyed some highly talented busking. Grafton Street’s a wonderland, there’s music in the air.

One highly talented musician by the name of Pádraig Cahill was giving it socks. Grafton Street was grooving. His latest release is on Spotify, absolutely enchanting. Bernard & I were enthralled.

That was then, the blissful beginning of June, my favourite month for its promise of summer & long, bright days…

This is now, the end of the month. Summer is speeding by too fast, with a string of weekends to remember including Body & Soul festival in the grounds of Ballinlough Castle, Co. Westmeath, where Moon Man proved to be the ultimate camping partner & the annual Pride festivities, where I partied with both Bernard & Moon Man.

My psychologist reckons I am living a meaningful life. I concur. We have a mere 3 sessions left together, fortnightly over the next 6 weeks. I saw her this week after a few weeks’ break & she said she had never seen me so perky & chatty. True to be told, last time we had spoken my mood had been somewhat “flat”, as she recounted. June was promising to be a party month & I was feeling somewhat overwhelmed at the prospect…just not feeling physically or mentally fit for it. Well, as they say, “Avoidance increases anxiety.” So nothing a healthy dose of partying couldn’t cure…I am cured of anxiety & overwhelm. I love June!
