Under The Weather

Friday rolls around & I’m up by midday

No work to be done, it’s all about play.

A lunch date at 2 gets me out on the town

But try as I might, I’m feeling down.

My stomach is queasy, tied up in knots

Food is served & there is lots.

A feast of veggies with seaweed & rice,

Cashew nuts, tofu & plenty of spice.

Sparkling water & a glass of white wine,

By now, I should be feeling fine.

A cappuccino might do the trick

But it just makes me feel more sick.

I make my way home, unsteady & slow,

Stagger up the stairs & to bed I go.

What the divil is wrong with me?

I am under the weather, it’s plain to see.
