Mark My Words

Mark, my word, says he’s Jesus

Heavens, he believes he is Christ

I could write a thesis

On mental illness & strife!

Diagnosed manic depressive

Just like my good self

Living in The Salvation Army

Left upon the shelf!

Well Mark, he has a woman

She is the best drinker in town

Mark keeps his lady a comin’

While she glugs the cider down!

His Patricia is a cougar

Linden Village is her sup

Seldom drinks into a stupor

But she needs some cheering up!

Keeps her wits about

And she’s always looking nice

Her man is happy & he’s proud

She’s his missus, she’s his spice!

X marks the spot & Mark spots the ex

He’s down in the local with ‘Tricia, a hex

Mark takes a hit, goes hexagonal

‘Trish drinks up until she’s lying diagonal!

Just another evening in the Granby

Salvation Army, North Inner City.
