Sitting on the Cork train, seated at the window
A message on my phone delivers me a blow
Minutes to departure, it’s Jameson Renique
He’s cancelling this trip, I’m just about to freak.
Bad news in his family is his message’s
explanation
I jump off the train & exit the station
Wondering, worrying, I wander home
Curl up on my bed as I pen this poem.
My mind is in turmoil, what on earth can be wrong?
He’s leaving me hanging for ever so long
Feeling let down, unacceptably treated
A disaster of a day, I am utterly defeated.
