Wednesday dawns, we’re taking a hike
Promising weather, as warm as I like
Kisses from the sun & hugs from the breeze
It’s a struggle today, once I did this with ease.
Bringing up the rear, can’t keep up the pace
Never mind, it’s not a race
We stop for a picnic, seagulls swoop & dive
The breathtaking scenery makes me feel so alive.
Up to the summit, then we descend in a loop
Some 10km later, I am only fit to droop
Howth Head at its finest, sparkles shimmering on the sea
Tonic for the soul, magic medicine for me.
