Landed myself in the Hugh Lane café
Fáilte Agus Grá is the greeting here today
Welcome & Love, I’m in for a treat
I order soup, it’s more than I can eat.
Tomato & roast pepper drizzled with oil
At just the right temperature, far from the boil
I pick up my spoon & tuck right in
The flavours are delightful, where to begin.
Pausing for a moment to butter my bread
The butter is soft, I like it well spread
Pure Irish Butter, you can’t go wrong
On white sourdough, I’m quite full before long.
Defeated by a bowl of soup
Post-lunchtime slump, I feel myself droop
So full of goodness, I am floored
Slowly digesting what has been quickly stored.
