Lunchtime Friday, I order a bite
Trying to eat but no appetite
I’m having an O’Connell on sourdough bread
A coffee would have sufficed instead.
Lettuce, sun-dried tomato, pesto & brie
With crisps on the side, all too much for me
Nibble, nibble, munch, I’m digging in
Coleslaw with red onion sliced nice & thin.
Fit to burst, I recline in my seat
The remains of my sandwich are an unfinished feat
Crisps & crusts that command a crunch
That’s all folks, it’s the end of my lunch.
