A long day on the sauce ended in tears
Missing my darling daughter, it’s been too many years
Mothering Sunday draws to a close
How is she doing? Nobody knows…
As long as she’s happy, I guess all is well
When will I see her again? I can’t tell
The light of my life, down an interminable tunnel
The sands of time trickle quickly through a funnel.
She’s all grown up now
I must see her somehow
I cry my tears dry
And sleep by & by.
