Sea Swim

Up at the crack & down a coffee

Bravely we venture to the sea

Taking a dip, the water is cool

But much more pleasant than a swimming pool.

Duck & dive, I’m proud of myself

My sister warns me that there is a deep shelf

We stay within our depth & acclimatise

Saltwater in my skin & in my eyes.

The weather is balmy, it’s most forgiving

I tingle all over, now this is living

Back on dry land, goosebumps all over

Under several layers I soon recover.

Brrrr!
