Chilling on the sofa on Saint Stephen’s Day
For the excess of yesterday, today I pay
We wined & dined & partied ‘til late
So it’s no wonder I’m not feeling great.
The food was amazing, how my sister can cook
And the booze it was flowing, we were off the hook
The kids were complaining that they couldn’t sleep
With the noise we were making while they were counting sheep.
Eventually, we called it a night
And I slept with the doggy, much to my delight
I woke up so thirsty, my mouth was so dry
Plenty of liquids & that feeling passed by.
The second day of Christmas, I am taking it slow
Anticipating more indulgence to follow
Thank God it’s Christmas, I needed the break
Good times to be had & memories to make.
